Support FB Bargaining – TAKE ACTION NOW!

FROM : Ottawa, ON
DATE : June 19, 2012
PRIORITY : For Immediate Release

Enough is enough.

For over a year, our FB bargaining team has made almost no progress in negotiations with the government. Treasury Board insists that we agree to work under terms and conditions of employment that are inferior compared to other unionized federal workers – including other enforcement workers. Our Bargaining team has now requested conciliation consistent with the Public Service Labour Relations Act.

We work hard. We enforce the law. We deserve to be treated with respect by our employer. We deserve a fair retirement regime and a fair contract.

Outstanding issues

  • Early retirement scheme that is in line with other federal enforcement workers
  • Access to alternative working arrangements
  • Seniority recognition for for all employees
  • Job security in the context of the arming initiative
  • Paid (pensionable) lunch breaks, like other enforcement workers
  • Enhanced protections in the context of Workforce Adjustments
  • Take Action!

  • Put FB bargaining issues on the agenda of your next AGM, town hall, conference call, regional seminar, membership meeting, national council or strike mobilization meeting
  • Invite a FB team member to attend.
  • Wear and share the “I support my bargaining team” bracelet
  • Distribute this flyer and upcoming flyers. Post them on your union bulletin board
  • Upload the “I support FB bargaining” graphic to your Facebook profile
  • Sign up to our mailing list
  • Visit the PSAC and CIU website frequently for updates
  • Go to the FB Action Toolbox to download flyers, stickers, graphics and posters at: www.psac-afpc.com/fbgroup
